The program includes a thorough discussion of nematodes, cestodes and protozoa, including species identification, parasite-related diseases, transmission methods, parasite lifecycles and public health considerations associated with each parasite.
Increase client compliance to the control, treatment and prevention of intestinal parasites starting with a knowledgeable and up-to-date team. The program includes strategies on how to best communicate with clients to gain compliance.
The program is highly interactive and includes the use of case-based scenarios and narrated animations to engage learners. Printable summaries on each parasite are available for reference.
Your team will learn:
• Ways of recognizing pets infested with various nematodes, cestodes and protozoa via the signs and symptoms exhibited,
• The importance of consistent parasite control for clients with regards to the zoonotic potential posed by nematodes, cestodes and protozoa,
• Recommendations for appropriate control, treatment and prevention strategies to help clients and their pets avoid infestations, and
• Ways to best communicate with and educate clients on the importance of parasite control and prevention.
This course has been accredited for 2 hours of continuing education through RACE and the Ontario Veterinary College.
